The Elephant in the Room
Perhaps the biggest issue that Christians have with the information shared in the August Update is a refusal to believe that God would allow people who love him, and are called by his Name, to be so profoundly and directly physically tortured by Satan and his demons, often over an entire lifetime, enormously compromising their Christian walk.
It is not what we are told in church. We are led to believe that Satan was defeated at the Cross and he is now powerless to affect the believer. He may be a roaring lion but he has no teeth. We worship in church on Sunday and those committed to Satan and his minions worship in the hills and never the twain shall meet.
Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact the exact opposite is true.
Perhaps the biggest deception of all that fuels the Kingdom of Darkness’ ability to plunder God’s people with impunity, is the strong belief that we shouldn’t focus on Satan at all but only on Jesus. The thinking goes that if we study the real thing, we will recognise the counterfeit by default.
Yet ‘Satan’ and ‘the devil’ are mentioned over 85 times in the Bible, second only to God. How many churches do you know that have done a comprehensive study/sermon series on Satan in the Scriptures?
I know of none. Anywhere. The silence is deafening. This elephant is not just in the church but is so large that squeezes all of us against the wall and we stubbornly choose to face the wall instead of turning around and acknowledging this reality.
